Austin is here!

I haven't been able to post much on here lately, especially now that our baby boy is here!  Austin John Kalna was born on October 4, 2012 at 5:06 AM.  He was 6 pounds 2.2 ounces and was 18 inches long.  Even though he was 5 weeks early, he was surprisingly big for his size.  He did have to be in the NICU for a few days, because he needed to clear the fluid in his lungs and learn how to eat.  We were able to have him with us on Saturday, October 6th and we were all released from the hospital on Monday, October 8th.  When we left the hospital, Austin weighed 5 pounds 12 ounces, which is normal for babies to lose some of their birth weight in the first few days.  We went to the doctor the other day and he already weighs 6 pounds 1.3 ounces, so he is doing great at gaining all of his weight back!  The doctor said the amount he has been eating is what is expected of a baby who was born at full term, so he is doing great!
